I have some Lincoln cents certified by both NGC and PCGS, however, three of my most valuable are in NGC holders. Could anyone tell me how much difference in price, if any, would there be if they were in PCGS holders? The three Lincoln cents are:

    1. NGC 1914-D MS-64 Brown
    2. NGC 1922 no D Strong Reverse EF-40 Brown
    3. NGC 1955 Double Die MS-62 Brown

    Thanks for your help,
    Dave

P.S. Can someone tell me how I can take a VERY CLOSE UP pic of these coins so I can post them? Whenever I take their pic with my digital camera I can't seem to get close enough so it is in focus and also there is always a glare from the flash. What can I do to take better pics?

for pics, you need to put your camera into "Macro" mode (if your camera doesn't have it then it will be nearly futile to try to get good closeups of your coins with it). Then shut off the flash and use a lot of light in the room that you are in. Finally, it usually helps to put the coin on a dark background so that the backdrop doesn't destract the eye from the coin. good luck, photography is definately an art, and as such practice is vital to success.

By the way, the best way to look for comparative value between NGC and PCGS slabbed coins of equal grade is to compare completed auctions on the heritage galleries site. PCGS is a little more desirable right now since they have the more active registry sets (and only allow PCGS slabbed entries while NGC allows NGC AND PCGS entries into their registry competitions) SO more people are chasing high grade PCGS pieces. BUT many people think that it is only a matter of time until NGC graded coins will regularly relize better value at auction.

Take it for what its worth, my opinion only.

For these particular coins, it dpends on how you sell them. Most dealers buy the coin, not the holder. Now if you are considering using one of the internet auction sites to part with your Lincolns, you can expect between 1 and 3% less for NGC.

    Nice 3-pack of coins...

    Check out these guys:

    As for pics:

Use a tri-pod, black coarse background, macro lens setting, no flash, indirect lighting (diffused is the best) and try it! Slabs are tough because of the plastic...but try it.
