Hello all, I got 2 PCGS graded Coins from a dealer. When I got them they were in prefect shape. Well here is the story picked them up at the post office first thing in the morning. Put them above my visor and left them there the whole day. On my way home sitting in traffic I pulled the coins out from the visor and I noticed they were cracked around the coin... not the outer slab but the inner slab that goes around the coin. I am going to post a picture for you. I contacted PCGS but have not heard back yet..... Please let me know what you think... I think the nickel got hot and expanded and cracked the inner case. First 100 callers win... Just kidding...
Looks like someone thought about cracking it out of the slab...I would send it back to PCGS for reholding but it will cost you some... Speedy
You're lucky that's all that happened. Leaving slabbed coins in a hot car all day is a big mistake - sometimes with disasterous results. Send them back to PCGS for re-slabbing, pay the fees and count your blessings.
