I had posted these back several months ago and the grades have came in for them. 1. 1919 Hunan China Republic 20 cash, Doubled Die Reverse error PCGS XF 40. Tied for top. 2. 1920 China Republic 10 Cash, broad struck error PCGS AU53. 3. 1926 Sichuan China Republic 200 Cash, Double Struck error 25% off center PCGS F15. 4. 1920 China Republic 10 Cash, Doubled Die Obverse PCGS VF35. Pop of 1.
Yea you would think that but I was truly surprised that 1-2 would have been hit with ED. So i was pleased with all in that aspect and the fact they were real, unaltered coins. It can be a coin toss with items from China. I have about 10 graded nice Chinese error coins now with 1 more pending PCGS. This was the first authentic double struck i have seen for Chinese errors.
My son did 30 day rotations in China for 5 years. He bought some coins but had to be very careful about fakes. He still uses his contacts over there to help him when needed.
Your exactly right. I lived there a few years and in Hong Kong as well fakes in both areas. I learned copper republic and empire coins fairly well and could do decent about identifying most the fakes but silver was not my forte.
