So I now have about 3 pcgs coins that really need a new holder. My first question is, there is one that I would like to add true view to when I submit it. I'm guessing that that is possible? Another question, let's say when it gets there they determine its over graded. Would they knock it down during the re- holdering?
It would be nice if we could get pictures of the holders/coins in question and yes im sure you can get a true view even for an old slab transition.Yes over graded will effect the future grade but it depends on the grader/er's themselves.
They won't even look at the grade unless you send the coin in for either the Regrade Service: or the Reconsideration Service: In both cases the grade of the coin is guaranteed to remain the same or upgrade. It will never go down because then you would be eligible for the grade guaranty. What you are talking about is a simple Reholder service: As you can see, they don't even look at the grade for Reholder service.
Its rare but they do reserve the right too. It would have to be egregiously over graded for them to do it.
Thank you. One has several scratches over the obverse. I have used a couple polishes on it, turtle wax and another one. There's a couple spots that are pretty deep. I have a second that has a large scratch on the reverse right in a bad spot the polish won't remove either. It looks like someone took a staple and scratched it. And the third one is completely cracked in a triangle shape on the reverse above the coin. I got a nice discount on it. It's still in the usps. Its an 1808/7 capped bust half dollar overdate VF35. The sellers pictures are a little blurry. But that's the one I'd like to add true view to. It's an an earlier blue pcgs. I'm not concerned on the additional cost. I ended up getting it nicely under price guide. I'm more concerned with this one. But since I'm sending it in I figured I'd fix these other 2.
