PCGS has a new referral program which offers referral points to every new member that is referred by a current member. Given the interest that some of you have in IKE's, I'd like to encourage those that are not current PCGS Registry members to consider becoming a Registry member and registering your PCGS graded IKE's! Use this handy link: http://www.pcgs.com/setregistry/Default.aspx?sid=1968 BTW, my registry sets are at: http://www.pcgs.com/setregistry/OtherSets.aspx?m=1968 Increased participation encourages increased interest and the Registry Program is free.
Aside from having your set on display (if you choose) PCGS offers free gradings when your set hits the 90% complete mark. They also send out invitations to the Registry Luncheon at Major National Coin Shows where registry awards are given. The luncheons usally include a free coin of some type signifying the date of the luncheon. Here's one I got in 2006: Although lately they've been giving out Proof Presidential Dollars: I suppose the biggest benefit is the free gradings which are given upon request with the following requirements: If the set composition is 1-9 coins you are entitled to 1 free grading. If the set composition is 10-24 coins you are entitled to 2 free gradings. If the set composition is 25-49 coins you are entitled to 3 free gradings. If the set composition is 50-99 coins you are entitled to 4 free gradings. If the set composition is 100+ coins you are entitled to 5 free gradings. Personally I've never taken advantage of this but other more patient collectors have.
yeah - that's cheap... I don't think PSGC even does Ike varieties. Hmm I'll have to consider it. Ruben
Yes, PCGS registry only includes PCGS coins. I believe the NGC registry will accept both PCGS and NGC coins...but I don't know if they have any benefits. I'm not a member of either.
PCGS will recognize any IKE variety thats in the 4th Edition of the Cherry Pickers Guide. This includes: 1971-S Silver PegLeg FS-401 1971-S/S Silver RPM FS-501 1971-S DDO FS-103 1971-S DDO FS-106 1972-S DDO FS-101 1973-S DDO FS-101
So your new world famous Ike wasn't there... How many do you have. I saw a huge collection, far mor than I have. Where do you find rolls of Ikes? Ruben
The Prototype coin is in an ANACS and as the only one, it wouldn;t really be right to include it in a set anyway. The Basic IKE Set requires 19 Coins while the Basic IKE Proof Set requires 10 Coins. You certainly don't have to have all 19 or all 10 to start a set. 3 Proofs fopr the Proof Set and 5 coins for the Basic set is all thats needed to get to a 25% completion. There are other sets that could be started as well. Presidential Dollars are dirt cheap and you only need two to get going.
