Hello, I am new to forum. Hope this is in the right section...

I was wondering if anyone knows what this is. It's not a crack or scratch. It appears to be some type of 'clear plastic insert/divider' or something. Is this common in pcgs holders.

Any info would be appreciated - Thx!

The picture is a little fuzzy, could it just be were the two pieces of the plastic connect?

Sorry about the picture quality, What every it is.. its inside the holder.

If you have not seen this type of thing before, it must be abnormal.

Maybe PCGS will reslab for me?

They might, but they may charge you a fee if they determine that it is post slabbing damage.

It looks like the gasket cracked. PCGS will reholder it for $5 plus shipping.

Lot depends on what you plan on doing with that coin and what you paid for the thing. If for a collection, just cut the thing open. but you sound like you want to keep it in a slab. The price of having it reslabbed may not be worth the cost depending on what you paid for that coin.

This is very common. It's just the way some of the inner cores were produced.

    Thanks for the info!

It's not a very expensive coin, think I will just leave it alone.

While I have your attention... just one more question (I am new to this stuff).

    I have some ungraded coins.

I would like to send them to PCGS to have them graded.

In order to do this, I guess I have to sign up for some kind of year membership ($49).

I was wondering once I sign up, how much more will it cost me to have coin(s) graded.

Their website has a submission form, but they won't let you download it until you signup.

If someone has a copy of the form... could I get a look at it?

    Thanks!
    JASE.
