Hello to all, I am new to forums and chat areas though I have been connected to the web for years. So please excuse me if I am not doing things correctly. I have a question for anyone that can help. I brought a 1993 PR-69 dcam. Which I received today, I see what looks like brown speck either on the coin or the inner holder of the slab. Has anyone seen this before?
Welcome to the forum! First of all, what date and denomination is this? A picture might also be helpful. Sometimes objects do find their way into slabs before the slabs are sealed.
Thanks It is a 1993 $1 silver ealge I have scanned the coin however the discoloring does not show in the scan
to CoinTalk Chandler. If you have return privileges, and aren't happy with the coin, for any reason whatsoever, send it back! High grade examples of that bullion coin really are very easy to find.
Silver Eagles are infamous for developing 'milk spots', and this might be what you're referring to. Yup, send it back if you have return priviledges. If not, I think PCGS' grade guarantee might cover a situation like this, where a coin turns bad in the holder. It all depends on whether this is a spot of dirt or something else though.
