I joined PCGS Currency last April to submit two fractional notes. I received this sample $2 FRN. from them which was a complete surprise to me. Even though it says "Sample " on it, it still is genuine Isn't it? I also just wanted to show my one and only $1 Silver Certificate which my friend gave me. I also wanted to ask, what is the average amount of time PCGS Currency economy class takes to do two fraction notes? Mint have been there since April 29th. zeke
Yes, the $2 sample is genuine, and a friend of mine over at Collectors Universe just displayed notes he submitted to PCGS in March. So, expect your notes maybe in August, or email Laura Kessler at lkessler@pcgscurrency.com, she is the Vice President of Business Development over at PCGS. Good luck Zeke.
I was just looking at their site and PMG and debating about joining. Is it worth it to join, or just send in notes with a dealer if they're willing? I don't like the idea that you have to be a member and pay a fee just so that you can submit a note and pay a fee for that as well.
I kinda agree you doc. But I do not think I want to trust a second party to submit my currency or coins to a third party. Also I don't know of any dealer in my neck of the woods much less one who would be willing to submit stuff for me. There is a local coin club which I haven't yet dropped in on their meetings of once a month. TPG'ers seem to have the corner on grading and authenticating. I do like to be in control of my own submittals. I also do not submit very often except on free offers. I made exception for these two fractional, though. I'm really anxious to find out what PCGS CURR, thinks of them. The previous comments I got from CT'ers about them were all good. To me this counts just as much as PCGS. zeke---------------------THANKS
