I was wondering if anyone can answer this for me. I would greatly appreciate it (as always!). I had a PCGS crossover submission with 2 coins. Both were graded by other respected companies. One coin the minimum grade was met so I assume they will automatically put that into a PCGS slab. The other one though came back "altered surfaces". I thought coins that did not cross just got a flat DNC? Why did they tell me about the problem in the submission? Does that mean they will remove it from the slab or cross it to a genuine holder? I did specify a grade and did not specify for them to remove it from the holder. Since that altered surface coin was from another top grader I just don't want to lose my guarantee from PCGS removing it. Anyone ever seen anything similar?
No, with a cross, PCGS will not crack out a coin cleanly graded in a competitor's holder just to put it in a genuine holder. No worries. Lance.
Thank you both! I really appreciate the help! I knew in most cases they tell you it did not cross. The "altered surface" in place of the "DNC" is what threw me off.
