There's a lot of good stuff on PBS (and on their web site), but this... http://pbskids.org/zoom/activities/sci/polishingpennies.html :computer:
Materials needed: Old, dull 1793 Flowing Hair Large Cent (lettered edge works best) Motorized wheel grinder Paper towels. Clean hanky Instructions: Look through your parent's old coin albums for the old, dull 1793 Flowing Hair Large "penny" Start up the motorized wheel grinder. Grind penny for 10-20 seconds. Wipe and rub dust and yicky oldness off with paper towel. What does the penny look like now? It should be much brighter. Repeat steps 3 & 4 all over the "penny" until completely shiny. Show father, but be sure you give him hanky first (he'll know what it's for).
At least they tell kids to ask their parents first.Otherwise little Johhny might go into daddy's coin collection and "help out" by cleaning up some of those old ugly tarnished things. LOL..samjimmy beat me by 1 min.
so which one of you is going to get htat fixed? we dont want whats left of outr little hobby to shine.
Some of that stuff we put in our stomach wonder now clean and bright we are in there. BRUCE"THE FRANK GROUP
