This actually wasn't for sale yet, This Manager reconized me and didn't want me to walk out empty handed. I am not sure what to do with the surfaces of three mint sets yet. there are some varieties.. RPM's and A doubled die or two, in three sets.
That was what my son did while we were at the Worlds Fair Of Money, He made out like a Bandit! a couple sample slabs, a 2017 red book.
I am not sure what caused it, my best guess is that they may have sweated a few times. The clad is hazy and spotted.
The 70-D was only issued in the Uncirculated Mint Sets. This 40% silver Kennedy only had a mintage of 2,150,000. Chris
Same Busby? https://www.ancestry.com/1940-census/usa/Texas/L-M-Busby_5hmj7j Would have been 63 when the 1970 sets arrived.
Yes, the sets were sent from San Fran with the S cent with the Philly set and Denver set had the Half dollar that year.
My first thought is that they packaged it on a humid day and moisture was trapped inside. I think they are supposed to be in a humidity controlled environment when packaged, but I could be wrong. It looks lime my glasses most mornings when I walk out the door.
I will be going through the rest of the sets this evening, I will post what I find.. Keeping my fingers crossed for a small date.
Both those thoughts crossed my mind - fogged up glasses and windows (SE coastal GA here is the humidity capital of the world in July and August) - and the "tapeworm" thing, too. LOL
