Paid $80 for this coin, did my rose thorn and oil thing- It had a ton of grime on it but I never took a pre-photo unfortunately. Sent to PCGS and came back 64 BN. Don't know the exact value for a BN coin but 63 RB is $250 and 64 RB is $500. I'd say due to strike and eye appeal it would get over $300. I paid $80 because it was an ugly coin with grime all over it. Here is the previous post: http://www.cointalk.com/forum/t45914-3/ I reread that post and it was interesting. Any comments welcome!
First, you link has one too many http in it. Doug called it a 64 in you original post - uncleaned. The biggest difference I see between then and now is that you are taking better pics now. As for price, Heritage just sold a NGC 64 BN for $207, PCGS for $299 and a NGC 63 (not a typo) BN for $322. I think you will find the prime price driver is the amount of red, not the grade. Aside from all the crap I am giving you, nice coin! That got you more than a couple point on the NGC scale.
Thanks RLM. Spock called it too, and maybe a few others-AJ said 62/63 but as Spock pointed out it AJ undergrades to the the benefit of his customers. I fixed the http problem, thanks
Also it's in a PCGS slab. I am not sure what you meant by this: "That got you more than a couple point on the NGC scale". It's in a PCGS slab.
Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't know that. I am number 50 something. All I need is a 65 S VDB to catch you on the points :thumb::eat::eat::high5: I actually have about 5-6 coins I haven't put in yet, so I will input into NGC and see where I am at.
Thanks Thad. I think the regular crew took the day off today. I expected more responses. I suppose I should be off this silly computer and hanging out with my family. Signing off for now.
