Woah, those notes are definitely pricey. Good thing I don't collect world notes like these or else I'd be on the lookout for the rare ones at my dealer.

Yes, the items can be expensive. About a year ago, I bought a beautiful ABNCo specimen stock certificate from one of the Archive auctions. If I have the free time I plan to log on and see how the bidding is going.
Unless things have changed the catalog and auction prep is done by Dr Schwartz and his family. They sends me catalogs in large envelopes with all stamps being old. Everybody likes the envelopes. Last year a catalog was delivered in error to a neighbor's house. She wanted to keep the envelope.

I started collecting world currency a couple of years ago and managed to purchase several interesting and or beautiful notes at, IMO, reasonable prices.

Some of those notes probably won't surface again in auction for a couple decades -- I'm a huge fan of these ABNC Archive auctions. Can't usually afford to bid, but the catalogs are like giant wish books. :)

Glad to hear he's using old stamps when he mails them. I try to use them as much as I can, too. They make letters and packages a lot more fun!
