    Hi all,
Just got back from the Parsippiny NJ show. Same dealers as usual but always something to buy.

I managed to get 5 more Barber dimes, 2 Large cents, another slabbed 64 Walker, good price on this one, and Dansco Barber Dime Album, just had to get it can't deal with the flips anymore.

I also bought a Medal, I was never into Medals, but they really grab my eye lately, love that high relief. I walked past this one half a dozen times and just had to get it.

    It's 63 mm - 64 mm by my measurement,

The Civil War Centennial Commision 1961-1965 on one side.

The other side depicts Grant and Lee, and says Let us have Peace
    Consciousness of Duty Faithfully Performed.

Can anyone tell me about this Medal??

    Regards Tony

    Hi, Tony.

Congratulations on the newest purchases, and thanks for the show report.

Glad to hear you were able to pick up a few more Barber dimes, along with the Dansco. They'll look great in your new album.

The medal was produced by the Medalic Art Co. (no longer in business) under contract from the CW Centennial Commision. I don't have a lot of details, but it dates to the mid-1960's.

I have a lot of medals, and some of my favorites were produced by the Medalic Art Co. I'm with you. I love the high-relief designs.

Thanks Jody, Yes it is a very nice medal, that's what I thought made for the centennial of the CW,great condition too. Do you know where I might get a holder for it? I can't pass up the dealers with the medals anymore, some really interesting and beautiful designs.

    Thanks Tony

    Tony,

I have several of my loose ones (without the original box), in silver dollar sized 2x2's.
They stretch the mylar a bit, but otherwise work just fine.

Hi Jody, thanks but this is a big medal 64 mm by my measurements, maybe just find a jewel box or something?

    Tony
