This is a rather scarce coin with original Mintage of 82 pieces, however I’ve not seen another and came from the estate of a former executive of the Central Bank there. Although of copper-nickel metal, the lustre in hand is tremendous. Unbelievable that the coin is now 46 years old!
PS- I’m glad you mentioned it is a 10-kina in the title. Otherwise I would have come in here and seen that “K10” abbreviation on the coin and assumed it said “KIO” - a one-kio coin. (Whatever that is. LOL)
Yes, I was so lucky to have gotten this as part of a lot - it may have been the presentation coins to the governor of the Central Bank and was gotten in an Aussie auction some years ago. The PL coins from set a bit scarce - these mattes were putative circulation examples.
