Hello,it's been a while since my last post. I'm no expert on notes, but I recently picked this one up from my local B&M. I paid $55.00 for it and would like to get some feed back on the notes condition and did I pay to much for it? Thanks luke
I think that was a fair retail price. Here's a note in similar condition on eBay for approximately the same amount: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1935-A-One-Dollar-Hawaii-Silver-Certificate-Extra-Fine-P105-/270828927828?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f0ea97b54 In fact, yours is probably a little nicer, closer to this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1935-A-One-...500?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f0efdcfe4
I do know this much though; one huge thing to watch out for on these is people ironing them to make them look good like that. Have you already checked for such a possibility?
When it comes to spotting manufactured grade notes, I am a rookie, as well. I just know that this is something I have been worned about in the past, particularly for these type notes. As I said before, the only one I ever bought when I first started collecting was very cheap and low-conditioned. More specifically, here it is: I paid $15 for it 3 years ago...
