paper money basics

    been collecting coins before this i want to know what i can on paper moeny to mostly foreign but i want to know how to find errors on us currency to so i want a site that shows all the errors like "bookend"bills...? heard it on another forum the bill looked avg to me...

    IDK about bookend bills, but have heard of bookend serial numbers. where 2 or more digits at the front and end of a S/N are the same ex. S/N 33987633. There are also other fancy S/N like ladders; S/N 23456789 or 87654321 and birthday notes; ex. 01251988 (jan 25, 1988); radars or palindromes read the same forward and backward ex. 21344312

    In the context of error notes, "bookends" are the normal notes with serial numbers before and after the error. An error note that comes with bookends will often sell for a small but significant extra premium over what the error would be worth alone.

    The term bookends is used loosely apparently, this is a pic of what Numbers is referring to, consecutive #'s with an error note at center...
