Fellow collectors- I would like to get insight from experienced collectors about what you all think about the future of paper money collecting as we are moving more and more towards a cashless society and economy. Will less paper currency in circulation make notes even rarer and more sought after? Or will people lose interest in paper money as a collector's item as people have less personal experience with it? It seems to me like collectors have been interested in coins since ancient times, and that will likely never change; however, since paper currency is a much more recent development in our history, Im much less sure about what the future holds for its collectibility. I am posting this because my collecting interests have shifted more towards paper currency away from coinage in recent years, and I'm wondering about whether it's advisable to spend the money on quality, high grade notes if the field of collecting may be on the verge of significant change? Thanks for any insight.
Paper money collecting will always be highly desired, i got in to it because the beauty of the art work the colors are just amazing as a certified collector of military payment its awesome having been it for 17 plus years, also remember This most of the highly valued currency has already had its run so they are not going to make anymore, here,s one that i displayed on another thread just got this one in yesterday
Good question! In my mind, the advent of the 50-note sheet/press rings the death bell for the "Star-note" and hence, some dramatic changes in interest. my opinion.
