I recently became interested in collecting Pakistani coins. And already have a small collection! Pakistan became an independent state at August 14 1947. Monetary system was: 1 rupee = 16 anna = 64 pice = 192 pie.
Don't forget they adopted the Decimal coin system in 1961, so there is now the Paisa. 100 Paisa = 1 Rupee
One pie 1956, bronze, weight - 1,25 g., size - 15,87 mm, mintage - 3390000 pcs. Engraver: P.W. Burende. Such coins were released at 1951-53 and 1955-57.
One pice 1955, nickel-brass, weight - 2,3 g., size - 20,59 mm, mintage - 31280000 pcs. Such coins were released at 1953 and 1955-59.
Half anna 1951, copper-nickel, weight - 2,9 g., size - 19,8 mm, thickness - 1,35 mm, mintage - 75360000 pcs. Such coins were released at 1948, 1949 and 1951.
Quarter rupee 1951, nickel, weight - 2,75 g., size - 19 mm, thickness - 1,4 mm, mintage - 19120000 pcs. Such coins were released at 1948, 1949 and 1951.
Half rupee 1948, nickel, weight - 6 g., size - 24 mm, mintage - 33260000 pcs. Such coins were released at 1948, 1949 and 1951.
One rupee 1948, nickel, weight -11,5 g., size - 28 mm, mintage - 46200000 pcs. Such coins were released at 1948 and 1949.
I have 2 Pakistan coins, 1 is an error coin... PAKISTAN N/D (2001 - 2006) COPPER-NICKEL 5 RUPEES. 75% OFF CENTER ERROR sellers pics... I have 1 other coin like this 1 that is not off center. I need to search for that pic. I did not find those pics....so I took new photos with my crappy flip phone...2002 This 2nd coin was bought for my "Coins with stars" collection.

One paisa 1962, bronze, weight - 1,4 g., size - 16 mm, thickness - 1,2 mm, mintage - 149380000 pcs. Such coins were released at 1961-63. Demonetized at September 30 2014.
