Bill Gates would have bought it... if he collected coins. After all he made 67 million last year. JK it is a very nice addition to anyone's collection.
Hey Dan, hope you're doing well. I just got a few of these off your website, probably get them in the mail tamale. http://www.dc-coin.com/una2009100am...ywithddc-1-1-1-1-3-2-1-1-1-1-1-3-1-3-1-3.aspx
"C", so what ya gonna do after you get it CAC'd? Are you gonna place it on feebay, oh forgive me. None of my business and you likely want to keep that close to the vest to get the most $$$ where ever you place it? Most beautiful 3 center I've ever seen. So what's the population on MS66's through PCGS, do you know? ~Cheers!
Very nice it is one of the prettiest I've seen. Question is it a 2 over 1? At 4 30 am and ,just getting up my eyes may be deceiving me. Not sure if it's the tone or what but looks to be a vertical line right where the one would be. Nice score for sure! And since the mint did not want to waste a die during the Civil War it maybe. This date did not have a high mintage. A little over 343,000. I had to look at this again before running out the door. I'm about 99% sure it's the 62/1 by the looks of the 2!
I want to keep this coin in the worst way, but I am tempted to put it in the Heritage ANA auction. The consignment deadline is in like 8 days, and they say I won't have to pay any seller fee, PLUS, I can have 5% of the buyer premium. I had already planned on putting an 1839 $5 gold in PCGS AU55 in the Heritage auction. Thy say they'll send em both to CAC for me... Also, there's a high pop of 121 coins in 66, in fact, there are a few on eBay for fairly cheap, but not like this one!
Pretty coin ! And you did well price wise at the same time. Combined those 2 things double the accomplishment
