Some boss got angry and paid his former employee with a wheelbarrow full of "pennies"! How would you like to be paid with a load of greasy pennies on your driveway? Bad form!
I would have called the police for illegal dumping, littering, and then claimed it being abandoned property and him collect it from the driveway or it will be treated as abandoned property. .....and still demand the paycheck.
I knew a contractor once that had been in a fuss with an unreasonable architect over the course of a project. At the end of the project the contractor had enough of the architect. The architect had a note on his ceiling plan to lay down R-19 insulation in the ceiling. The contractor carried the rolls of insulation up in the attic and laid those rolls down just as directed.... The architect became much more reasonable after that.
That’s not being paid. I’d sue that person for interest on the late payment too. They want to be a piece of you know what I’ll treat them as such
The negative news coverage will more than pay back the business owner. I'd drive miles out of my way rather than deal with that guy, and I'd let him know it.
The risk of a business owner doing that is that it will come back and bite him in the bum 10 times over - every customer whoever had a gripe about his business could do the same damned thing. And soaked in motor oil - dumped on the salesroom floor.
There was a cartoon in a VERY old issue of Mad Magazine where a customer tips a waiter a penny because of poor service...and the waiter yells, "A 1909-S VDB!!!"
