So, I'm trying to organize my slabbed coins into a binder. I purchased an Eagle brand page a while back and am using it to hold a few slabs. I like the page, but they are pretty expensive. I have seen Lighthouse brand for sale online and they are quite a bit cheaper. Does anyone have any experience with these...and could provide some info/opinions. Photos of the pages would also be helpful. Thanks!
A page from my 2nd Morgan binder. Coins shown are 93-S to 96-S. Post-it notes are for the 95-S and 96-S. No 95 place holder. My Type set and Morgan set are in Lighthouse binders with Lighthouse pages.
How do these pages work? Are there a front and back side that snap together? If so, do they stay together well and are they easy to open to add coins and close again? The Eagle pages have a plastic strip across the front that holds the slab in place and it's not the most esthetic thing in the world. Also, I have a couple coins in ANACS slabs, both new and old. Although I'm not huge into ANACS, I want to keep the slabs as they are. Will these pages accommodate those slabs?
I don,t know if this will help. The top loader pages for baseball cards work great for slabs. You have to make sure and keep the binder upright because they will fall out if you don't retain them some how. Certain slabs are snug enough that they stay in good. These pages are very cheap. About the same as a 2 X 2 page.
They are "loose" around the edges. There are 4 clear plastic prongs around the center coin that hold the pages together. If you need to slip a coin in on the edge, you can without completely opening the page. $6 for 2 pages isn't a bad deal and they work great for PCGS and NGC coins. I don't have any new ANACS holders. Just 2 old small slab ANACS. They work great for me. About to buy a Lighthouse Binder and pages for my graded Walkers.
I did see this in action at a show once. For the amount of graded coins I have, the top loading baseball card pages were not a viable solution. The card pages are flimsy. The coin pages shown in my picture are firm. I can stand the binder up right and the pages maintain their structural integrity.
