overstrike dime

    I believe this is an overstrike the scan is not very good but no batteries in the camera. I put arrows pointing at a nose and words of God and maybe trust upside down. When I look at it with a loop it looks like George from a quarter the tail of the hair is by the back of the head but cannot be seen in the scan.The back is smashed and it is elongated. So I'm not sure if someone did it on purpose or not. The local club thinks mint error.

    That does not look like any error I am familiar with. I would be inclined to say post mint damage.

    It looks like someone took a quarter and tried to smash the design onto the dime by striking it with a hammer.

    I say it;s post mint silly putty damage and it looks like it was strected out maybe it's a silly putty dime .made from a grey silly putty color.

    Now i'm I silly or what.:eek:dd::goofer:
