Here's yet another question from the hyper-inquisitive mind of Lawton: As seen in both examples below, I have noticed that there are many instances where one particular digit is over-inked in both the left and right serial numbers. (the ZERO in the upper note and the last 6 in the lower note) Considering that one would think that 2 different serial stamps are used, it would seem extremely unlikely that this would happen with such frequency. How is this possible? Am I wrong about the serial number overprinting process?
