Recently I had taken some early ‘60s pennies to a local coin dealer with some questions and I saw he was stacking the coins into several piles and he explained he was identifying the ones that had been stamped with the same dies. He said he saw the same characteristics over and over in the same roll.

well I just went through a roll of mostly uncirculated 1960Ds and I saw 9 that had a weak struck “E” in E Pluribus Unum and 2 with a weak struck “U”.

Just thought I’d share what I thought was a neat experience... 37BEBAF1-4C6C-467F-BF4E-B216D51E4AB2.jpeg D3702123-70EC-4FC2-A39E-7E3370D64B62.jpeg

I did the same thing this past summer with a previously unopened roll of 1960-d LMC's.
I found coins with matched die lines that where obviously from the same die pair.
It was a really fun thing to be able to do.

I also have a BU roll of 1970-S LMC's that I was able to find die pair matches in.
