I recently came across this Roman coin of Emperor Macrinus, noticing that it has an oval shape. Is this form common to all Roman Emperors or could it be considered as rare? Macrin R.jpg Macrin O.jpg

Not rare and only desirable if much worse and then only to a few 'oddball' collectors. I like my Phonecian silver oval but I am odd.

Great ancient coin. There's like a boat on the reverse. The lettering is Phoenician. Can you read something from right to left. Is this the portrait of a king? What Phoenician city issued this coin? I'm becoming a curious person with this endless hobby.

ARADOS, PHOENICIA, 350-332 B.C. AR STATER "MA 15" over boat (date?). Obverse is a god (Ba'al?). Most show waves under the boat but mine is unusual due to the amount of the dotted oval and the boat that is on flan.
