I am in the process of organizing my world coins in a whitman coin album. I have each individual coin in a separate baggie (H.E.Harris) labeled with its details like country, year, etc. I was considering organizing the collection by continent, and then by alphabetical order of country.

I was wondering if anyone had any better suggestions and tips about this. I was also curious about how ya'll organize your coins...also, do u keep empty spaces in the album for the coins of a country that you may not have at the moment but might acquire in the future? As an example, I have euro cent coins for Germany, but i'm missing 2 denominations in that. Would it be a good idea to leave 2 empty slots for them, to be filled in future? Also, say I get a new coin for another country in Europe that was not represented in my collection before, should I leave empty slots for such situations or what else would be a better way?

Thanks in advance for your comments and opinions.

I have about 500 different foreign coins .I have mine in 2x2's and in the clear view pages that hold 20 coins. . I group each country and leave holes throughout to add and move coins as the collection evolves. I have these in three large notebooks
one for western hemis....one for Europe...one for all other. It works OK . Also the 2x2's show country, denomination , and date. Good luck

I have numerous world coins and I store them differently depending on the country. I have a lot of Canadian, English, German, Dutch, and French coins. I have three ring binders with the coins in 2x2 slabs with spaces open at various spots. The rest of the countries, I have in 2x2 slabs in boxes that I bought from coin stores on ebay. I also have spare coins in the the same type of boxes (US and foreign coins).

This is basically the same thing I do. Only exception is I have many coins that I have no idea of what they are so they are still in 2x2's but just in those long, two row, red Whitman cardboard boxes. I'm not a foreign coin collector but have accumulated many, many of them. It appears that every time I tell someone I collect coins they hand me a pile of coins from thier country. Since this has been happening for many, many years, the quantity has grown substantially and I basically have no idea of what I have. Still they look nice in those 20 holder plastic sheets in a e ringed binder.

i dont have anything exp or any large amount of coins... i store them according to metals in a ziplock bag... say all brass coins come together and remove the air and wrap it up.. crude but inexpensive way of doing it... if u have anything of imp or value 2x2 always comes in handy or maybe an airtite container...:)

I am also in the process of organizing my silver collection. I am taking pictures of my entire collection just to have for my self. It is fun IMO to do that because I like what I have.
