I bought this coin a few days ago. It's a rather rare coin: 10 grani 1974, mintage - 3000. "St. John".
Wow! striking coin! This portrait, with eyes shut, must be after The_Beheading_of_Saint_John_the_Baptist. Congrats on your acquisition.
10 grani 1967, copper-zinc-nickel (91% - 8% - 1%), size - 30 mm, weight - 8 g., mintage - 10000 pcs. Fra Angelo de Mojana di Cologna (1962-1988). Minted in Rome.
I have a book on the history of the Hospitallers and the Knights of Malta but have only read parts of it. I have on occasion also seen good quality Crusader coinage and eventually would like to buy one.
