i was thinking about getting this coin. I am trying to put together a MS/BU set and i know FB is hard to find on the 44 but i was wondering does anyone see any type of wear that would make this a AU? or any problems indicating i should not get this coin? http://cgi.ebay.com/1944-HI-MS-BU-B...em&pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item3caee2743e
That may get close to AU but it's hard for me to accurately tell on those pictures. I would also say (in case you are wondering) that is not FB. $11.00, MS64 ICG http://www.cheapslabs.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=44638 $14.00, MS65 ANACS http://www.cheapslabs.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=5290 $19.00, MS65 NGC http://www.cheapslabs.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=36908 $32.00, MS66 PCGS http://www.cheapslabs.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=45406 I have ordered from them and they are pretty reliable.
Thanks the only place i knew to look was ebay and a few online dealers i didnt know about that site thanks! so they are pretty reliable?
Also 1944's are not hard to find with full bands........Id consider them as hard to find as any of the shortset minus the 45P
thanks dime freak and shoewreky how representative are the pictures of the coins you actually recieve because some of them have one picture with 9 in stock on certain coins
I bought Proof sets since I am trying to finish up my Roosevelt Dime and Kennedy Half Dollar sets though these sets were in great shape and there wasnt any haze/ugly toning like you see in some older proof sets. So to answer your question, the pictures were well presented. If you dont like the coin, check out there return policy
From the pics I don't think that is FB. To qualify for FB, you have to distinctly see the two horizontal bands in the center of the fasces, on the reverse. There cannot be any breaks, dings, etc., and they can't be worn so as to merge them into one thick band (which happens very early on as the coin starts to wear).
I just got off the phone with the guy and he seems very nice!!!He says he accepts returns even though everything is slabbed and you can trust the grading company. I ended up grabbing this one http://www.cheapslabs.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=46046
ouch that price tag is a bit to steep for me so he does take returns that is definately good news now i have a new place to shop
PCGS prices it at 2000 Numismedia at 1500 Both prices are without the toning premium........I see lots of other stuff on his site that is underpriced also. Id say if he follows through that this is a good source for coins
