The two photos above were lightened up because of poor picture taking. They came out too dark. Exposure was increased, brightness increased, and contrast decreased. This photo of the diamonds is untouched. The coin is red/brown. Picked it up yesterday, high bidder on dealer's bidboard.
Thanks bonedigger. I'm way late collecting Indian cents, never thought I'd get into it. Always collected silver and I hate black carbon spots on copper. Stayed away from copper for that reason. But ya know, the 2009 Lincoln craze is coming... just put together a Lincoln collection minus the extravagant keys. Got some Flying Eagles and a bag of 53 Indian head cents for amusement. But I guess I'm hooked now and this 1908 is by far the best IHC I ever bought. Beats the heck out of all my other IHCs. The dealer's description just says UNC, nice luster, red and brown.
