where in NY is that coin coming from? I don't know about the pricing on that coin, but I'm surprised it is not slabbed.

It is slabbed by pcgs. I see where he put it as a ms53 not au but I just went off the picture of it in the pcgs holder at the bottom of the page you can't trust the listings I see errors in listings all the time. I am not sure what part of New York the seller is from. He has solid feeback and also sells a lot of nice coins so figured he is safe. Also offers a 7 day return.

You are correct. This is the Low Leaves, Open E variety.
The place on the reverse is called a cud die break.
    Really nice coin.

Great, thank you for the info I have seen that "cud die break" before on one of these cents but I wasn't sure about it. Is the breen's 1933 still pretty rare or have alot been found since the Breens Encyclopedia has came out? Breens labels that coin as being very rare so I felt lucky to have found it and be able to win it. Maybe you know are most of the varieties in the breen book still acurate when they label them as very rare and scarce. Also is there a book or website that would give a current population of this type of variety and the grades they have been found in?

So was it a good price? I haven't shopped Flying Eagles in a while. It is better than the AU55 that they have on auction (at much less so far). Or was that other coin "Buy it Now?"

Breen's work is a really great book but you can't trust some of it after all these years. Many coins that were called rare are really not. I believe this one is thought to be scarce today. Rick Snow is the expert on this topic. Here is a link to his site. He literally wrote the book (books) on this.

I am not sure if that one had a buy it now or not it is up for auction now with bids but I liked the look of this one better even at an au53.

I don't collect these, much less know about varieties, but a very nice coin I would say!

Thanks for the link it looks like a good site I think I am going to order one of his books. They say get the book before the coin and I have a few good coin books. But it looks like if I am going to be getting more indian cents or flying eagle cents this would be a good book to get. Does anyone have any other suggestions? I like collecting varieties so if anyone has any other ideas to share that would be great!

I appreciate them, but they are out of my price range. I hope to get one, but I don't think that I can really afford to have a lot of them.

If you like varieties the Cherrypickers' Guide is a must. Should be easy to find online.
