I have no idea of the "market grade". I believe it matches the A.N.A.'s description of an MS-63, but when you get right down to it, who cares? It's a beautiful example of the issue type, and any of us would be proud to own it. Congratulations, Ed!
I definitely see it as a 63 with possible proof-like quality. I'm can't be sure about that without the coin in hand.
Thanks for those that looked and graded. I bought it as a solid MS63. Coin looks better than the seller's pics and most of its surface has a beautiful luster. I took the MS64 with a grain of salt hoping that it was a decent MS63...which I believe it is too. I will send it off and see what I get and add to the my other Morgans. I am happy with the purchase. CC dollars captivate my attention as I envision these coins being used during a poker game in some mining town. Maybe they were part of a bank/train robbery or not. Anyways, thanks for your input. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=39465&item=3946527596
Looks like a pretty solid 63 to me. Looks to be a nice buy. Question...did you buff the coin or is it the lighting from your didgital camera?
Grade..? I guess I will have to differ with most people and rate it at a MS-64. The CC dollars had layed around in vaults for years, bags of them were shipped to distribution points and then moved several times from there. A typical MS-63 would have many more bag marks than the piece I'm looking at. This one has a nice sharp strike and lacks any typical problems. catman
