I was surfing around ebay and came across the user finestknow.com and also checked out his site. Does anyone know anything about this dealer? His site was fun to go through as was the history accompanying each of the rare coins he is selling. Ebay feed back is excellent to say the least, but I still wanted to know if anyone had any experience with this dealer. I wouldn't be suprised if some of you know him personally or if he is even a member of this forum Thanks for your input.
I ran into him at one of the FL shows. He has some nice coins and they are priced at "nice" prices...that is, to generate a profit. There's no harm in that, but he is just another outlet to buy and sell coins. Going into coin shops, you are less likely to get a "bargain" for a coin because if you truly want it, you really have no other choice. After all, it is sometimes tough to turn down a coin you want/need that is sitting directly in front of you. On the flip side, going to shows, you have more buying power as other dealers may have the same coin in the same grade. There, you are likely to get a better deal as competition at shows for buyer's dollars is way more tough on the sellers. Go in with your wish list, market prices from many sources, and bring cash. That has more buying power over plastic or checks.
