Hey everyone, I just saw this quarter on eBay that ended and I wanted to see what you alls opinion of it is. It's a common date 1861.

    Sold for around $370

Auction. One bid winner. I've seen several AU-55s in the $250 range but not many with this color

Nice AU quarter, colorful toning, but in terminal stage.

Au 55 I'd say pretty toning but that was enough for it

I'm not sure it would not grade MS. Price might be a little high but not much.
    Nice coin. Great color.

The hairlines in the left and right fields are gonna keep it out of any MS grades. I thought it was a solid 55, borderline 58 on today's market. Price for a 58 is what this one went for I believe. I think the toning helped the price too, although I'm sure it's masking the hairlines a good bit as well.

Interesting coin, I've been watching seated quarters a good bit lately and it's hard trying to locate eye appealing specimens. Lots of worn coins, plenty of the better grades have distracting marks, and tons of blast white stuff that doesn't look very appealing on 130+ year olds coins. Id love to see this one in hand and maybe that's what the buyer was thinking too.
