I just came across this listing for an 1854 $3.00 Princess. I really can't say why, but it just screamed "fake" to me. I may be 100% wrong, but something just doesn't look right. I am really interested to hear everybody's opinions. Give it a look and tell me what you think. (Disclaimer: I have no interest in the sale of this item.) http://cgi.ebay.com/1854-3-00-gold-...15?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item563fc6ed97

Hard to comment on it's authenticity from the pictures...I'm leaning towards genuine by the look of the denticles... but no way to be sure... but I can say it has been heavily polished. Either way it's not even worth half of the asking price.

Indeed, with a sandblaster and for good measure, a belt sander (sarcastic)

That said, I don't see anything wrong pursuant to authenticity.

Cleaned and DEFINITELY overpriced. I wonder what the seller would think about the grade if he got it certified?! :D
