Got a small bonus from work and figured I'll buy some items from the Mint that I've been wanting. Of the four, I plan on purchasing two at this time: Star Spangled silver Unc Star Spangled silver proof 2012 ASE Proof 2011 W unc Which two would you order first? How long do you all think the Star Spangled silver coins will be for sale? I haven't seen the mintages so far, thus I don't know how well it's selling. If they're slow selling, then I can just get one now and buy the other later. The 2012 proof just went on sale, so I may get the 2011 W since it's still available (how long will the Mint keep selling that?). Wish I had enough to just get all four at once!
The mint sales of uncirculated SSB are running at about half of the proofs. My guess is that uncirculated will be worth more in the future. Can't say for the ASE's, though. You like IHC's, right? Why not buy a nice one that has a little more beauty and history behind it? Lance.
+1 I would like to own some of the ASE type new mint products but I just can't justify the price, not with all the nice old copper running around
My copper friends make a valid point but I take your post (OP) to be directed at advice on mint purchases. If I had to choose I'd go for the Star Spangled Banner unc. and the 2012 proof ASE.
Buy them all. But seriously the SSB is a real pretty coin. I would get that since they release an ASE every year and there never seems to be a shortage of them. Except the 2011 set.
