Love the toning on that one. Not a huge peace dollar fan but that one is very nice. No clue on pricing though haha.

This is what I don't get about tone lovers, to me, that coin looks like it's burnt. Bid on the actual grade I say, not the tone. Don't let the toning make you overpay because to me, toning adds zero extra value to a coin but that's just my opinion. ;)

PCGS/Numismedia price guide lists the value of this common low MS graded Peace at $295. I would feel okay paying $225 for it myself because of the toning.

I personally like the coin Even though you should only pay for the condition of the coin, collectors that like toning would most likely drive the price up.

Toning can be a bad thing as well a good thing. In this case I see it as a bad thing. But that is my opinion, others may differ.

yea I wasn't a big fan of the toning either but the price seemed ok for the grade. I'm going to stay away thanks.

I completely agree but unfortunately, there is a movement afoot which values the "toning" on the coin over the grade.

Since toning can be accurately faked and its really only a matter of personal "preference" on whether or not its original, I try my best to NOT feed that movement.

For any new bidders reading this post, they should be very wary on bidding until they fully understand what they are doing. Of course, thats true with any coin auction/listing.

FYI. Saw the coin the other day, and I like the coin. I am still the high bidder.

For those of you who don't like this coin or its toning. Good. :)

Yes, I won -- at my max bid.

The peanut gallery can commence with the comments now.... :)

Peace dollars don't typically come attractively toned, and I'm betting this one looks nicer in-hand.

I'll post pics after it arrives.
