    I would not call that a AU! VF all day long as to much wear and I do not like the scratches by the beak of the eagle.

    I think it shows wear, also, & I suspect cleaned at one time.

  6. Ask for more pictures if you can. You really have to see the full coin to grade it.

    I found myself looking at the reverse first, before I had to turn the 'idiot switch' on to figure out what he meant. I'd go nowhere near it.

    PB055813.jpg PB055814.jpg I would say VF30, which is very generous but the coin does have nice rims even if it doesn't have any luster. As for full-breast, -I agree that is a bit of a stretch. Anyone concerned with that sort of thing should be collecting the coins of Benin (Dahomey) and not Walking Liberty halves.

    I cannot tell if it is a high VF or a low XF weaker strike, but perhaps more importantly, that coin definitely looks cleaned to me.
