i got these today and was wondering if i got a good deal. i will tell how much i paid after i get some opinions. the funny back has a slight old repaired tear. upper right area. the notes are: 1934 one dollar #e22273272a 1953a two dollar #a51831688a 3-1957 one dollar #i00232824a #v11865916a #v21893672a 3-1957a one dollar #b07031535a #d44455722a #j62127801a 4-1957b one dollar #w77589921a #v72145060a #v97390209a #x71954675a
$13 face value and the funny back is repaired. That's a shame as the 34s can be a bit tougher to find. Looking at the condition I wouldn't have gone higher than $18-20 for the lot.
if you bought them in 1 lot, then i agree, the price would have been lower. but overall, i would think closer to $30. the repaird funny back can still fetch a decent price, the $2 note as well. and as much as silver certs do get a bad name for being so numerous and very available.. they still fetch a couple dollar over face at times .... so even if the $1 certs only went for $2 each ... that leave only $5 each for the other 2 notes... which IMHO is very possible.. and possibly even more.
Jon67... Most of my experience is centered on CHCU to Gem notes. I wish I had an honest answer for you. Also my area of interest is in Small size Federals, Large Size (Legal Tenders, Federals, Bank Notes and Obsoletes. Let us know what you find out..should be interesting! RickieB
