Hey folks, I have been meaning to ask this for awhile. How does grading go if one side is damaged, but the other side is not. Does it get a grading per side, or is it just body bagged. Also, what is body bagged? lol
Heres an example of one I have that someone must have sharpened a knife with! I just want to know in general for any coin.
    Thanks

If damaged, anywhere, a coin is considered to be ungradeable.

Up until not long ago the TPG's would place ungradeable coins in a small plastic flip and return them to their owners - that's where the term body-bag comes from.

Today, they go ahead and slab the coins and mark them genuine but harshly cleaned, damaged etc etc. And there is no grade on the slab.

In effect, it is still a body-bag. But the coin is at least marked as being genuine. Before, that was not done.

Here's my one sided damage. I just love this coin though.
