TrueView_31640605_ExtraLarge.jpg Gotta love this one. I took advantage of the PCGS free TrueView quarterly special, too! 1809 xxx edge O-102 Capped Half PCGS XF40.

Beautiful! When I saw the title I got excited and thought, maybe a detector find! Nice find indeed.

Sorry bout that, haha. It was an eBay find. I freaking LOVE the fact that NGC doesn't recognize major varieties like the xxx edge unless submitters pay the variety fee. This one was an NGC XF40 and the variety wasn't on the holder, thus it moved from being a $450 coin to a $900 coin (retail). And to beat all, the sellers pics were so bad it didn't show ANY of this incredible toning!

I wonder how on the obverse a third of the toning around the stars is orange and the rest is electric blue? So cool.

Man I know where there's a guy who has a huge stash of bust halves he found in an ammo can in a barn that blew over in a storm 20 years ago. I saw them about 8 years ago and most are vf-au. Never been looked through for varieties and he has like 200 of them. he's not a coin guy but he won't part with then either. I bet there's some good stuff in there. If I remember right there were alot of teen dates in the bunch.
