I don't know how many of you realize that with the minting of the new State Quarters, there is a new buffalo coin,North Dakota. The quiz is...NOT counting different finishes or mintmarks, how many US coins are there that feature the Buffalo?? Ready,set...GO!
I think that's the correct answer, can anyone think of others? Here's a photo I managed to take of the whole herd. It took a bit of "creative arrangement"
LOL...doesn't count, not available until June. But thanks for the heads up,I had no clue about this coin, not that I can afford the $600+ it will probably go for. http://www.gold-eagle.com/editorials_05/haynes010406.html
The buffalo nickel, bison nickel, Kansas quarter, North Dakota quarter, the 2001 commemorative silver $1 buffalo. Commemoratives still count as a coin because they have a denomination.
more like 13...if you count he Buff's from 1913-1938 and if you count the Comm that has a Buff on it....I think there are more than 13 but don't know right off the top of my head. Speedy
13? Keep in mind that it doesn't include varieties, dates, and mintmarks or coins that havent been released yet. It also does not cover paper currency. the 1901 $10 bill featured a bison
Actually,Speedy is right. I forgot to exclude varieties like the 3-leg buffalo. But technically, there are only 5 distinctly different issues, until that gold $50 one comes out later this year.
I think you all are forgetting about the 1991 Mt. Rushmore 50 Cents Commem. It has a buffalo on the reverse. I have this coin and it's real nice lookin'.
