I just finally got an opportunity to buy an "11 cent" coin error. Somehow they double struck a penny over an already struck dime. Like a double mule LOL. Note that the pics are from the auction company they have not shipped the coin yet so I can not get my own pics. It is PCGS certified ms67. Anyone know anything about the populations on these? I think i might try to hang on to it for a while if me brother doesn't talk me out of it lol.

actually, a mule would be the pairing of two different dies that do not belong together

eg: The Saci $ & the States quarter mules.

Lincoln Cent struck off center on a Roosevelt dime (double denomination-off center). Only a few off center double denominations are known for this series. This is a full dime that was struck off center by cent dies. Value $5,000 or more.

It has to be a little off center, but I don't know how much is required to be considered such.

    Great acquisition regardless.

Ya I know it is not a mule but it is kinda like one. But as you pointed out it really isn't so point well made :p

@ marshall The coin you are talking about from page 407 in 2010 redbook I think refers to something entirely different. On that one it is like 50% off center. I would expect that one to be worth alot more because you have clear Lincoln and Roosevelt. That one is waaaaay cooler lol.

Awesome error and sounds like you got one heck of a deal.

Don't hold your breath Lost, I'm sure he will find some reason why his is far superior to this one.

It may be worth less, but I don't think by a whole lot. You have most of the devices of both denominations along with dates. That's cool.

I just wish I was the one who pulled it out of the roll. The best error I ever found was a blank cent planchet. Government really ripped me off there LOL!
