By which time they can ramp up production on the Millions, Billions and Trillions to pay off all the bank failures, oil companies, grafters, porno kings etc. Now this bailout is projected to cost $4 Trillion, yep, you read that right folks. What is a few trillion amongst friends and family.
First polymer was the 1988 Australian $10 note, meant to commemorate the bicentennial of British settlement in Australia (in 1788). It would be a while before Australia converted all of their regularly cirulating notes to polymer.
As mentioned in another thread, we still don't have a treasurer yet. I'd guess it will be at least another year before we see new signatures on our currency.
