So i have this dime that i have been saving because i like the toning through out the while coin, but does something like this command a premium?and what else do you guy see going on here?and it may notbe worth anythi g but i dig it and i can see the bands but i dont think this sucker gets the FT haha.
Toning is such a personally subjective thing. I happen to be a person that doesn't care much for toning. The whiter, the better for my collection... But I do not deny that toned coins have come of their own in recent years.... What is going against you though is that 1967 is a clad year and I don't know that you could really command much of any premium for a common year clad dime.
I like the Mercury Dimes. I didn't start collecting them until my father passed on his coin collection to my brother and me. He had a lot of different coins in different conditions. Once I started going through the collect and I got hooked. The collection was split between my brother and me. It's been about 9 years since my mother followed me. I didn't know it, but my mother and father had agreed on waiting until my mother died. It was like looking at toys through windows during Christmas. I had a lot of fun going through them. My brother didn't do much until our mother passed and them he got interested in them, but they are still in the jar that my father kept them in. I was glad I was retired because when I finally got my share, I didn't sleep too much going through my father's collection. I love to collect coins and read about them. The more I learn, the more fun it gets. Have fun.... again, and again.
