Isn't there any online site where they feature the complete list of all coins? That would simplify things a lot. Thanks a lot for any hints.
Howdy czamora - Welcome to the Forum !! I assume you mean US coins. For that, this is about as good as it gets - Coin Facts
That looks like a great source of info. Thanks a lot. And do you guys know of a similar thing for international coins?
The best you can get online right now for international coins is here: http://www.worldcoingallery.com/ Or alternatively, if you just want to research, you can go to omnicoin, http://www.omnicoin.com as there are plenty of coins there. Or alternatively you can always ask here with photos. There is just too much infomation and for *****s sake, please do get a Krause or borrow one if that is not enough - there aren't any other sides that could be any better because of it's insane infomation. Perhaps google will be your best friend if you refuse to buy such reference books.
Doug, the only problem with coinfacts is that every time I go there, like tonight for example, and click on something like liberty cap large cents, and see the picture that pops up,I want to sell my collection and go live in a monastery or something. http://www.coinfacts.com/large_cents/liberty_cap_large_cents/liberty_cap_large_cents.html
Why haven't I ever thought of that? Live long enough and learn something new from the strangest places and people. :kewl:
Yes, that's the kind of site I was looking for, with lots of listings, even if without much information about each coin. Thanks a lot for the pointer! My problem with the books is not just the price, but the fact that I would have to type all that information by hand into my computer program. I'm a programmer, you see, I like doing things automatically, not manually.
Why do you think nobody has ever done it ? To enter just the 4 baisc Krause catalogs into a computer would be about like typing in by hand the phone books for New York City, Chicago, Las Angeles and Miami.
