Was plundering one of my many coin stash boxes and ran across this piece and fond memories of Oldhoopster came flooding my mind.... Some while back I was watching the Oak Island program and they dug one of these eight Maravedis pieces. I was taken with the piece and posted about it in one of our threads and that was when Oldhoopter sent me a PM. He too had a fondness for these pieces and showed me where I could pick up the example below for a mere twenty bucks. I was very appreciative and we sent several notes back and forth and in our conversations he confided in me that his days were numbered. I felt rather helpless and the only thing I could offer was uplifting notes from time to time that he always responded to.. Until the day he didn't..... So anyway Oldhoopster I hope your spirit is free of the burdens of this old world and that peace be yours for eternity.
Old Hoopster was one of the good guys. RIP and may your son carry on your prowess to the hardwood court.
