Oh my word!!! I had been trading PM's with him just doing what I could to keep his spirits up. I had promised him that I would keep his diagnosis private... I had been really worried when I didn't hear back from my last message to him... If anyone ever had things in the best possible perspective, it was him... Dang, what a sad loss.
So sad. He will definitely be missed, helped inform everyone on the Error forum for years. I am happy to have met him and talk here in CT. I will be praying for his family, My pops was barely 60 when he passed. It was hard on all of us.
He was a coiner right to the end, too. His last day on here was three days before he passed. We'll all meet him eventually at that big coin show in the sky.
It's so hard to let go of those we feel close to, whether it be because we share a hobby, share similar values, or just the same sense of humor . . . I never met Hoopster, but wanted to. Rest in Peace, @Oldhoopster .
Yes, I saw the news of his passing over at the NGC forum first. I will miss his book recommendations and positive approach to coins... Rest in Peace.
