Meow just did some CRH pennies and found a 1919 penny showing on one end. It is the oldest penny Meow has ever found CRH. The rest of the roll did not contain anything special.
This one is cool enough, Meow. I was thinking banks aren't supposed to put wheat cents into rolls anymore. Maybe they just missed this one.
Wheats are a bit hard to come by, as Meow finds about one per 6 rolls. Wheats older than 1940 are really hard to find CRH, maybe one over 250 rolls.
Yes they are harder to find. I found a few teens. A couple 19s a couple 18s and some in the 20s some 30s. But yeah like you said 1 out of so many rolls.
Do you have more information on this? Where did you read or hear they were not supposed to have wheat cents in rolls?
Hi I have a penny that I guess should be 1952 wheat, but it has what appears to be 195 with a backward S....has anyone saw this before.
Ummmmm, could you make your own thread please? This is considered hijacking another's thread. Go to the proper forum, and click on create post. Now you have your own post with the proper title, and maybe someone will answer your questions there. Thanks, MeowtheKitty
Found a pretty good 1910-p awhile back. Just went through 2 loomis boxes, only found 9 wheat, oldest 1945
Sometimes it can be hard to get a wheat, any wheat. Meow keeps every one in tubes marked 'wheat' on top.
Take it easy Meow. Put your claws back in your paws. Your title is misleading and could possibly suggest that others are welcome to post their CRH finds, too. That is how I took it. Welcome to the neighborhood, Brenda! Chris
The oldest coin I ever found was a 1859 Indian cent that I found in the trolly tracks. The oldest coin in a bank roll was a 1863 Indian cent.
