I came across this website while looking for a Canadian coin type list. I want to make a DIY Canada type album given how the commercial ones all seem to be out of print. This website has type lists for multiple countries. It also has printable 2x2 inserts for several countries. You can print these out, cut them up, and put them in 2x2 pages and you have a type album for the country. Most countries only cover 20th century but there are some older ones. Does anyone know of similar material anywhere on the net? I'd like to find something similar for Germany (in its various incarnations), modern Greece, modern Italy. He also has type lists by several interesting themes. http://typesets.wikidot.com/inserttemplates John
It looks like you cut them up and place them in 2x2 clear sheets. Personally I would design a digital coin but that takes a lot of time and effort.
It would be nice if there was a picture of both sides of the coins on the inserts. That would also take a lot of time but it would give you a better idea what you are looking for. John
When I collected stamps I found pre-made sheets you can just print out. They have a color picture of each stamp for that year from a country (or whatever). This makes it really easy to see which ones you have or don't have. You could print them on archival paper and then attach the stamps to the pages with hinges or panes. It was an instant stamp album, cool. It would be nice to have a similar thing for coins. Maybe a community effort to put one together if no one has done it before? We could include mintages, weight, catalog numbers. Probably more work than anyone wants to do. John
Funny that you posted this. I am currently putting together 2 Excel templates for this site. Cuba Republic and Philippines U.S. Administration. I should have them completed today and will attempt to upload to the site for others to use for type collecting.
